Latest CFTC Report
The latest CFTC Commitment of Traders Report as of Tuesday, July 17, 2018 shows the Non-Commercials Net Long Positions decreased during the week by 19,901 contracts to 673,278 contracts. A large 34,271 Long positions were closed and 14,370 Short positions were covered.
Prices had a significant one day drop on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 so the price change is reflected in the Funds Net Positions change. Prices have since rebounded despite an increase in Crude Oil stocks. We would not be surprised if the Funds increase their Net Long Positions.
